Clay says he was born when Eisenhower was President of the US. At age 5 he attended a Cincinnati Reds/Chicago Cubs game and was more interested in the organ being played than the game! From then on he was smitten. Clay began organ lesson under LaVonne Bell Smith at age 13 and played his first church service at age 14. While in college, he studied organ with Elisabeth Spencer Moore and traveled home each weekend to play the organ at Harlan Christian Church, a church he served for over 25 years.
Clay moved to Corbin in 2001 and began serving Christ as Organist at Corbin Presbyterian Church in 2003. In 2005, he was hired as Director of Music/Organist, a position he had dreamed of for years! Clay has been serving Christ through music for over 46 years and looks forward to many more years to come.
